Partnering with Walt Disney World Procurement Services, Walt Disney World Merchandise, Walt Disney World Distribution Services, and all DISNEY CRUISE LINE operating areas the position will be part of the logistics leadership team with primary function for coordination and movement of information and product from origin to destination. To include, but not limited to:
- logistics systems management
- supplier relationship management
- client relationship management
- supply chain partner relationship management
- logistics contracting
- transportation daily flow
- freight audit/payment
- logistics projects to optimize costs
- drive improvements
- and meet customer service policy commitments.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) for transportation daily flow to achieve service level commitments and minimize costs (tendering, carrier selections, and EDI invoicing, etc.)
- Coordinate the landing and processing of items from the vessels or island for return, repair, or storage; track/file all US Customs related documentation in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations
- Support special handlings/staging requirements for ship, island, and special events.
- Use of ERPs for shipping/handling processing (AMOS/DBS/DCS/SAP)
- SMS responsibility for upholding the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System within the areas under their control.
- Continual education on market trends, and development in the areas assigned.
- Manage/oversee logistics projects to drive improvements in service, cost, systems, or other areas as deemed necessary.
- Provide timely availability, cost efficient, and safe movement of materials, supplies, and products from source to end user.
- Coordinate and execute quarterly supply chain partner performance reviews, provide feedback, and action planning to drive improvement in quality, cycle time, productivity, and financials.
- Analyze logistics network flow for optimization of lane, hub, and flow processes and/or other analytical tasks as needed.
- Manage shipment decisions by fully leveraging TMS optimization planning technology.
- Input, maintain, and validate all master rate data information from contracts.
- Quarterly variance reporting of estimated and actual landed supply chain costs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics related position
- Proficient working with various ERP & TMS systems, including database knowledge – e.g. DBS, SAP, Island Pacific, ORACLE, Access, AMOS
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- International logistics network experience a plus
- Experience with supply chain optimization models and analysis
- Project management
- Strong computer and financial assessment and modeling skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or similar
