The Assistant Manager is responsible for managing several sub-categories and the associated licensee base with the goal of meeting or exceeding predetermined revenue targets and growth objectives across the Disney portfolio of brands.

Responsibilities :
  • Work with licensees and retailers to deliver exceptional apparel product for (CPGP) Accountable for implementing the business strategy for sleepwear and unisex medical scrubs
  • Finance and Business Planning:
    • Obtain, review and analyze quarterly sales forecast information from licensees in order to build quarterly forecast and budget
    • Analyzes account (licensee, retailer, brand and property) business performance and develops growth objectives that are aligned with (CPGP) initiatives.
    • Responsible for category input within the 5 years strategic plan
    • Compile and analyze retail sell-through information
  • Brand and Content Management:
    • In conjunction with/ support of the PR & Franchise team:
    • Ensure timely approvals of licensee’s marketing/promotional elements in or outside of OPA as needed
    • Liaise with Disney channel and/or studio partners to support licensee needs
    • Consumerist: Consumer obsessed, constantly balancing the art and the science of merchandising to find opportunities, elevate brand and delight our consumer
  • Category management
    • In conjunction with Manager, define category and property strategy to identify new business and revenue opportunities
    • Manage day to day relationship with licensees
    • Support organizing, pitching and selecting licensees
    • Set-up and lead licensee business review
    • Provide management support in the contract and amendment process
    • Perform all functions of “Contract Owner” for a selection of licensees, / co-manage where relevant with LOB partner
    • Support apparel team in everyday responsibilities such as sample organization, social media requests, buy boards, placement grids and other projects as necessary
  • Product Development:
    • Partner with Product Development team to innovate & bring to market compelling, trend relevant product for categories managed
    • Liaise with Product Development team to ensure timely approval of products which may include: lead meetings; coordinate programs across multiple categories/consumer segments; review line lists; maintain milestone calendars
    • Liaise with the design partners in packaging development process to ensure timely approvals and to ensure product features are communicated effectively.
    • Prepare product presentations included but not limited to internal line reviews
    • Champion our diversity, equity and inclusion goals through product & collaborations
    • Ensure licensee product lines reflect Disney quality and brand/property objectives.
    • Assist licensees with securing of assets to support product development
    • Research & understand competitive landscape. Relentlessly monitor the global competitive landscape to capture opportunity
  • Retail, Sales and Marketing
    • Build strong team-oriented relationships with other key business units and/or global stakeholders for new business and/or cross-promotional opportunities
    • Provide all needed product and licensee information to the sales and marketing teams to support retail road shows and presentations
    • Liaise with Sales Trade Marketing team to define account promotional and marketing plans and ensure licensee participation
    • Partner with sales in assortment / retail planning / sales pitches/ retailer exclusive products where relevant
    • Supports internal initiatives generated by Marketing and Sales Teams

Basic Qualifications :
  • Strong understanding of brand and property positioning, manufacturing process, retail business development function, retail distribution and the retail environment
  • Fashion experience is important. Strong product development experience and keen sense of fashion/trend
  • Excellent follow up, organizational and project management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks/assignments
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence a diverse audience including experience working with external partners and business owners to bring product and assortments to the market
  • Team player with and a can do attitude
  • Show up as compelling, dynamic, knowledgeable to cross functional teams
  • Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical/strategic thinker
  • Solid computer skills (Keynote, Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook)


Required Education :
  • Bachelor's degree 4-5 years related experience or MBA with 1-2 years experience
