As a Principal project controls planner & scheduler you will make an impact by providing planning and scheduling expertise to Walt Disney Imagineering project teams and functional disciplines. This will involve developing comprehensive implementation strategies and incorporating deliverables into project schedules. Prepare project life cycle and master schedules. Integrate all schedules (design disciplines, vendors, production, and construction) and provide a comprehensive project perspective. Monitor, evaluate risks, and present recovery/mitigation plans to support turnover/opening schedule. Perform earned value analysis when needed. Provide progress reports and management presentations, as appropriate.
You will report to Executive Project Controls.
What You Will Do
All of the Primary Duties of a Senior Project Planner/Scheduler, and in addition:
Supervise and lead all project planners/schedulers within a specific portfolio, including determination of staffing requirements and performance evaluations
Responsible for the development of work breakdown structures, zoning and work scoping documents, and identification of deliverables and strategies to meet project objectives
Responsible for coordination and integration of project schedule input from all internal and external project organizations; ensure schedule-coding structure supports management-reporting requirements
Understanding of the construction and show/ride production methodologies for all subject areas of work and develop optimal contract achievements for contract bid packages
Compile and analyze data and present recommendations to senior management
Compile detailed schedule data for analysis and prepare team and executive-level overview reports
Prepare risk analyses using Primavera Risk the Analysis will include a summary critical path schedule, weighted risk factors, calculated risk results, and mitigation measures.
Assess contractor claims for extension of time, delay recovery, and acceleration and give recommendations to senior management
Participate in staffing/training/development of planning and scheduling staff.
Influence Mitigation approaches to minimize project risks.
Analysis, Critique Vendor Reporting and Performance to project objectives
Required Qualifications & Skills
12 years engineering/construction planning and scheduling, which includes a combination of:
10 years of computer Critical Path Method scheduling experience
At least 5 years of supervisory experience required
At least 10 years of hands-on construction, production, or design experience
Prior experience as Lead Project Planner Scheduler on the complex project(s) / program(s)
Un practical project control applications and earned value measurement
Preferred Qualifications
Industry relevant certifications or completed course studies
Understanding of contract administration including assessment of contractor claims for extension of time, delay recovery, and acceleration
Knowledge of the schedule risk analysis process and results. Able to analyze and present the results and mitigation measures
Work experience in the following industries: Theme parks, Cruise Lines, Major Resort, show/ride product lines
Education
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in California is $135,000 to $181,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
