Area Manager Core Responsibilities:
- Maintain quality by monitoring staff and sampling products at various stages of production
- Enforce District Taco's safe food handling practices using the HACCP plan
- Guiding managers to improve productivity of each restaurant
- Fill in and help manage locations that are short staffed when necessary
- Assess general enthusiasm and morale in stores to find ways to improve Team Member wellbeing
- Communicate clear expectations to Team Member and guiding staff to ensure prescribed goals are met
- Act on information received from Managers
- Monitor labor and COGs information, and reviewing budget data for restaurants within region
- Verify that inventories are accurate and on-time
- Audit restaurant financials - safe counts, expenses, and the use of comps or voids
- Strategize to increase sales and operational efficiency
- Create community relationships to promote business and catering sales
- Assist with events that will increase exposure including fundraisers and large catering orders
- Determine solutions for equipment, operational, and service issues
- Correspond with Support Team regarding potential policy changes
- Establish goals for each restaurant to optimize efficiency and profitability
- Make sure Managers follow correct procedures for filing paperwork and reconciling invoices
- Acknowledge positive and negative behavior through performance reviews and disciplinary action
- Hire or terminate Team Members following proper procedures
- Manage Team Member access for ordering, inventory, alarms, emails and keys
- Review and approve minor repair and maintenance projects
- Identify and communicate potential need for major renovations or capital expenditures
- Monitor progress made on reported issues
Area Manager Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant General Manager experience (5 Years) or multi-unit experience (3 Years)
- Food Safety Managers Certification and TiPs Certification required
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English
- Strong interpersonal/people skills
- High level of motivation and sense of self-responsibility
- Ability to apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene
- Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills on an ongoing basis
- Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath
- Stand and/or walk for 8 consecutive hours
- Coordinate movement of several parts of the body, such as arms and legs, while the body is moving
- Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
- Lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis
- Work efficiently in a variety of hot or cold environments (e.g. refrigerated areas, close to cooking
- equipment, etc.)
- Work as quickly as certain tasks demand
- Knowledge of Food Safety and health department policies
- High level business knowledge P&L management, sales-forecasting, staffing, etc
