Position/Title: Computer Specialist I
Reports to: Technology Director
Qualifications:
- Experience in cable runs, wire pulling, ceiling mounts and trays, ladder work and safety, toning wire, terminating RJ-45 and RJ-11 twisted pair ends.
Job Goal: To improve and maintain the physical state of all network gear and cabling throughout the HUSD environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead Role on Cabling Identification System
- Design, review and begin implementation on a Cable Identification System.
- Identify, test, and label all patch panels, Cat5 cables, switches, routers, field jacks, and port drops according to function, purpose and bit type.
- Eliminate/replace unnecessary, inoperable and obsolete network gear, cables and panels.
- Maintain up to date Documentation of all runs, naming schemes and network maps.
- Provide on the spot cabling maintenance and break/fix support.

- Climatic Environment (if applicable):
Possibly exposed to extremes of temperature. Occasionally subjected to extreme
noise, odors, mists, dust and poor ventilation.
- Work Year:
Extra duty/extra pay positions are for a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Duties of
the position may be performed any time during that time period depending
upon the position/season.
- Salary/Benefits: This extra duty position will be compensated at $1,500 in the form of a stipend to
be added to the employee’s hourly rate. The stipend may be removed from the employee’s subsequent Notice of Appointment if the job expectations are not met. All benefits will be implemented according to governing board policy.
E. Supervision Requirements
This position is expected to be able to work with minimal to no supervision requirements.
Salary : $18 - $20
