What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT BUILT HOME INSTRUCTOR position at District Wide?
Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
? Teach courses in accordance with outcomes identified in the stablished course development model. Teaching assignments may include varying delivery formats and methods.
? Collaborate in the development and revision of curriculum as needed.
? Meet with classes as scheduled
? Attend and participate in all scheduled in-service and advisory meetings as required.
? Introduce the information and skills necessary for participating students to reach the outcomes required in each course.
? Evaluate and record student performance and achievement on a regular basis and provide feedback to students.
? Meet recommended student / instructional accommodations as required.
? Develop and administer assessment instruments to validate student outcome and achievement.
? Maintain accurate attendance, progress, and grade reports for all students
? Plan and implement learning strategies appropriate for meeting student outcomes.
? Analyze results of planning and teaching and making appropriate revisions.
? Assist in the recruitment and retention of students in the Student Built Home Program.
? Actively serve as a CTE department team member
? Develop and administer assessment instruments to validate student outcome and achievement.
? Maintain professional certifications and skills.
? Engage in professional learning activities and actively seek information about the developing trends and ideas in the industry.
? Analyze results of planning and teaching and making appropriate revisions.
? Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of students and internal/external stakeholders.
? Complete other job duties unique to your area as assigned.
Physical Requirements of Position:(HBV ? Yes ? No)
? Be able to climb a ladder over 12 feet to be on a roof and/or scaffolding
? Be able to withstand extreme temperatures and weather changes
? Be able to lift 50lbs
? Be able to go up and down steps repeatedly throughout the day
? Be able to operate all building tools and equipment using established safety criteria
? Be able to meet the additional physical needs of standing, climbing, bending, and reaching expected on a construction site.
Special Qualification Desired:(Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
? Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of the industry (home building, carpentry) experience required.
? Teaching license with proper endorsements required
? Iowa Teaching Certification with one endorsement in the following areas: [140],[370],[372], or Professional Service License in carpentry required.
? Must be approved by Scott Community College to teach concurrent enrollment classes.
? OSHA or specific construction industry training desired.
? Civic/Community involvement desired.
