POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accountant I is primarily responsible for recording daily cash receipts & house gas receipts, fixed asset project support (depreciation, project opening, closing & cost analysis), assigned account reconciliations and reports. A hybrid work schedule is available for this position in our Canton, Ohio, office.
Special focus will be placed on:

• Recording and Application of daily cash receipts
• Recording and Application of house gas receipts and adjustments
• Fixed as reporting (opening and closing projects, analysis and depreciation recording)
• Prepare assigned account reconciliations monthly
• Prepare assigned management reports monthly
• Provide support for year-end audit
• Assist with 1099 preparation & answering well owner questions
• Provide support and analysis, as required.
• Support changes to the business to ensure the appropriate accounting and control processes are applied
• Perform other duties as requested.
• Regular attendance at the worksite is required on assigned days if working hybrid schedule

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible accounting experience (applicants with less than 2 years will still be considered)
• Oil and gas industry is preferred
• Motivated self-starter possessing strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to function independently with minimal direction, as well as in a team environment
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills
• Must take the initiative to meet internal deadlines consistently; demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Must be flexible to grow and expand with company needs
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required; advanced knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred
