JOB TITLE: Casework Sales Planner
REPORTS TO: Vice President – Diversified Casework
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM; overtime as needed and approved
FLSA JOB STATUS: Non-exempt
LOCATION: Suring, WI or De Pere, WI
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing design and planning services using NSTA guidelines, building codes & ADA accessibility to ensure form, function, and attractive designs that work together to provide science and research labs best suiting individual customer requests while creating “functionally correct” lab spaces. Design requests range from new construction and renovations to minor upgrades.
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Manage complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision
- Communicate directly w/ region managers, dealers, architects & end users to plan & design labs & classrooms
- Create drawings and layouts from written and verbal specifications
- Assist architects in providing lab layouts and design, specifications, and budget pricing
- Assist architects & customers with facility planning for the most efficient use of space, personnel, funds & resources
- Resolve and reconcile discrepancies between architect/engineering plans and company standards
- Work closely with designers, drafters, and engineers to ensure coordinated design efforts are maintained
- Complete project responsibilities within scope and schedule
- Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain all revisions of project drawings
- Update and maintain job/project work logs and reports
- Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to team members when applicable
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required
- Independently exercise excellent judgment as to important tasks, while always considering the customers’ and company’s best interests
- Prioritize tasks among and between projects and communicate those priorities
- Gather existing project information to assist salesmen with initial presentation for new projects
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in computer-automated drafting, preferably in a manufacturing casework environment
- High school degree required, Two or four-year degree in Drafting/Architectural Engineering Drafting & Design preferred
- Experience with CAD, and/or REVIT
- Bluebeam experience a plus.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of general construction practices & national, state & local building codes
- Knowledge of space arrangement and required clearances in rooms
- Ability to visualize 3D from a 2D plan
- Mechanical and Analytical thinking
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a team
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Extreme organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Great communication skills, must be a team player and able to work closely with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
