Job Description

We are seeking a friendly, experienced, detail and service-oriented AV Installer. This position requires experience in installing audio-video systems. The ideal candidate will be acceptable to direction and self-motivated. This person should have knowledge and experience with the following: basic construction techniques, Audio-video devices; Cable pulling; Mounting of TV's, screens, projectors; Basic IT knowledge; basic electrical knowledge; experience with Crestron, AMX, Extron, Kramer, Biamp, Smart or similar products is a plus.

Typical work hours are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or as needed., with travel in the Maryland and Virginia area.  Some travel may require overnight stays. The work environment can be loud and dusty. Many on-site environments are similar to those inside building construction site.

This position may sit frequently, but is also required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, use tools with sharp blades and power equipment. Must regularly lift and/ or move objects than can weigh up to approximately 100 pounds. This position must also be able to climb and work from a ladder.

All candidates must pass a comprehensive criminal background check, as well as a drug screening.  Additionally, reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stage equipment; load truck; inspect job site
  • Read and follow work order for installation
  • Perform comprehensive, on-site audiovisual equipment installation for our clients, trim-out, equipment rack setup, plasma/LCD, projectors and projection systems, media rooms, audio hardware and speakers
  • Perform cable pull-paths, diagnosis structural/room interior for efficient and optimum installations, crimp and terminate audio and video cables
  • Understand and perform cable installation and termination
  • Test proper functionality of installed equipment
  • Label equipment/cables as necessary
  • Assist with installations of classroom/boardroom AV automation/control systems
  • Install video conferencing systems and audio-video racks
  • Evaluate potential problems and technical snags; develop solutions
  • Understand internal formal escalation and review processes
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with cabling, including pulling, crimping, installation and termination
  • Strong experience with device installation
  • Knowledge/experience with AV systems and components such as speakers, amplifiers, digital signal processors

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Any industry certifications, such as CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, BICSI a plus
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and work within varied conditions some which may be small or confined
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders and on lifts as required
  • Must be comfortable with power tools such as drills
  • Must be comfortable working with power tools
  • Basic understanding of AV and network test equipment
  • Experience in Structural installation of displays, screens, and projectors. maintain a professional work appearance and outstanding customer interaction

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of at least one (1) year in the field of operations, service delivery, escalation procedures and related disciplines
  • Valid Driver's License with minimum of 3 years clean driving record
  • Audiovisual installation and venue/event management experience a plus
  • Applicable manufacturer trainings and certifications a plus
  • General networking principles
