Minimum Requirements:
Juris doctorate
5 years' experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
Active law license in good standing in the state where practicing
Excellent verbal and written skills required to communicate complex legal issues
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and make sound decisions
Meticulous attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize and multitask, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-level work product
Preferred Requirements:
Natural mentorship skills and a focus on teamwork

What will your day look like?
The Intake and Risk Management Attorney supports the firm's critical risk management function by performing all duties associated with new business intake risk management, including, but not limited to, overseeing the critical risk management function related to the onboarding of new clients and new matters to the firm, including vetting potential conflicts, financial, reputational, and anti-money laundering issues; overseeing the process of closing out clients and matters; drafting, reviewing and advising on client engagement letters with a specific focus on advance waivers; serving as a key risk management resource for the new business intake team; assisting with training around new business intake best practices and business acceptance processes.
Additional responsibilities include undertaking due diligence and reputational risk assessments of new clients and matters. You will advise the partnership on business acceptance issues relating to the onboarding of new clients and matters and work closely with members of the Office of General Counsel around the escalation of issues. You will oversee the process of closing out clients and matters, including the drafting of closeout letters. You will also serve as a key risk management resource for the new business intake team, answering questions related to all aspects of new business intake risk management. You will draft, review and advise on client engagement letters with a specific focus on advance waivers, as well as draft and develop best practices and business acceptance processes around new business intake risk management. You will assist with training to the firm on new business intake risk issues. You will also train and mentor members of the new business intake team on risk management issues.

In accordance with New York City's Pay Transparency Law, pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $130,995 - $150,000. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate's geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience and overall qualifications.
