The project is a comprehensive, nationally representative health survey designed to assess the health and wellness of individuals across the country. Beyond traditional questionnaires and interviews, this survey incorporates biospecimen collection, allowing for a more in-depth analysis of participants' health. Participants will provide biological samples, such as blood, saliva, or urine, which will be meticulously analyzed to understand various physiological, genetic, and biochemical markers. This combination of survey data and biospecimen analysis aims to offer a holistic view of the nation's health, identifying trends, risk factors, and areas of concern.
The Data Manager III: Primary duties include provision of data management support by developing programs to build study datasets, utilizing innovative tools to automate manual tasks, identifying and resolving data-related problems, and generating reports to summarize and visualize the data. Performs requirements gathering, design, coordination, and testing for reporting and analytic projects/tasks. Assists Project Manager in the development of project plans. Collaborates with business process owners, technical staff and project manager to leverage the use of data and data strategies across business/operational needs.
- Actively collaborate with other data managers and staff from other functional areas to plan, implement, monitor, and complete assignments.
- Develop, revise, test and perform quality control of programs for a variety of analytic and operational projects, including the creation of analytical datasets and fulfillment of data requests both internally and externally.
- Oversee the development, testing, and validation of programs and workflows for geospatial data.
- Manage the production and submission of deliverables such as reports, data sets, visualizations, and documentation.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and implementation of data management plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other forms of documentation.
- Lead the design and implementation of high impact analytical and predictive modeling initiatives.
- Lead data and reporting needs for special analytics projects.
- Supervise work and mentor junior staff as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Basic Compensation: $95,000.00- $115,000.00/yr
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant's salary history will not be used to determine compensation.

Education:
Bachelor Degree in Public Health, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Health Sciences, or another related field or related field of study (or equivalent).
Experience:
Five (5) years SAS or R for data management, including writing programs to manipulate and process data to join data sets, derive new variables, edit existing variables, and reshape data files to suit specific analytic needs.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment.
- Ability to develop creative solutions with minimal direction from leadership.
- Advanced R programming skills demonstrated by experience with packages for visualization (ggplot2), data management (dplyr), and spatial data (sf).
- Experience with web APIs (POST, rest, JSON, etc.).
- Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Python, SAS).
- Familiarity with version control software (e.g., git, GitLab, GitHub).
- Experience with statistics or data analysis (e.g., time-series data, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, spatial analysis).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by prior publications, presentations, or in other venues.
- Strong project management experience including planning, scheduling, and managing your own work and the work of others, monitoring deliverables, and risk mitigation for schedules.
