As a Studio Leader at DLR Group you will be responsible for leading and building the Higher Education practice. You will have significant decision-making authority to grow your studio as part of the larger Global Higher Education practice and will work closely with senior leadership. We are looking for someone with the drive to grow and elevate design in the region. You will have significant resources at your disposal in order to accomplish goals we will establish together.

Position Summary
You'll be responsible for helping to build our practice in Arizona building staff, strengthening bonds with national and international teammates and elevating design and our brand. You will have direct interaction with and engage our local and national resources to pursue and deliver projects. Our firm brings a wealth of perspective and design, planning and thought leadership to our higher education clients worldwide.
The successful candidate will:

Work closely with the Regional Sector Leader and Global Sector Leader to develop strategies to grow staff, opportunities, brand and design excellence.

Identify new project opportunities, lead/participate in relationship building with clients to capture new work, lead/participate in RFQ process & interviews for new project opportunities

Collaborate with the National Higher Education Practice to leverage all firm resources, disciplines, and thought leaders. We are a fully integrated design firm and have significant resources available.

Collaborate with the Regional Sector Leader and Global Sector Leader to develop our annual business plan.

Successfully collaborate with our fully Integrated Design Practice.

Lead and or assist in the leadership of planning and design projects in the region.

Mentor team members and lead and participate in hiring, training and onboarding of new staff.

Possess good written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong organizational skills.

Participate in in-house training activities to further develop skills and abilities.

Participate in local and regional organizations AIA, SCUP, NACAS, etc.
Required Qualifications:
-
8 years of demonstrated experience with multiple Higher Education clients and projects.

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.

Experience as a Practice Leader or Higher Education Studio Leader on Higher Education projects.
Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed Architect in Arizona or the ability to gain licensure within first 60 days of employment.
