DMA is seeking full time Material Handlers to work at our state of the art distribution center in Nichols, SC. The Material Handler is responsible for performing various material handling duties manually in support of receiving materials and processing customer orders correctly and on time.
Schedule: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:30PM
Responsibilities:
Performs work including but not limited to: Operating fork trucks or other powered industrial equipment to receive, unload, stock, and perform inventory cycle counts, using automated computer systems, standard operating procedures and work processes.
Work Environment:
- Modern DC Fulfillment warehouse facility utilizing various styles and types of equipment and technology to ensure efficient, accurate and timely processing of customer orders
- High level of automation and material handling equipment
- The company emphasizes quality, safety, and accuracy over just speed
- Physical requirements – Significant standing, walking through the warehouse, and consistent lifting (up to 50 Lbs.) of products is required. Use of carton knifes, taping equipment, automated strappers, pallet wrappers, carts, and various other small hand tools.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum one to three years direct warehouse experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment
- Computer and technology usage skills required
- Familiarity with warehouse management and distribution software systems highly preferred
- Strong communication, both written and verbal with equally strong interpersonal skills required
- Moderate physical effort consisting of: 1) Lifting or moving material over 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds over 40% of the time 2). Standing, walking for sustained periods 3) Frequent pushing, pulling and bending often in difficult work positions.
- Ability to work in an environment where a number of elements including dust, heat, cold, noise, vibration, oil, etc. are present.
