About the Opportunity
DMI is currently seeking to hire a Performance Test Engineer to support a Federal Government customer in the DC metro area. This Performance Engineer will provide support for an enterprise web-based system.
Description
- Conducts system performance evaluation to ensure system reliability, capacity, and scalability.
- Support and assist with Infrastructure profiling to find bottlenecks at the Infrastructure level.
- Experience in windows server performance evaluation, and IIS configurations. Evaluate application performance at the server level.
- Experience in troubleshooting application integration issues with windows server and the underlying network.
- Experience in Azure infrastructure, a plus
- Work with the testing team to develop performance plans and baselines. Analyzes results and coordinates with development teams for bug fixes.
- Generates performance summary reports for management review for system baseline. Analyzes the root causes of performance issues and work with the maintenance development team to provide corrective actions.
- Suggests new tools and techniques improve the overall performance of the system by developing prototypes.
- Monitor technology improvements, recommend upgrades, and evaluate alternatives across on-premises and cloud IT infrastructures, both virtual and physical.
- Monitors application performance during performance tests or production usage using monitoring tools such as Splunk to isolate the fault domain, dive deep into application code, and identify the root cause of performance issues.
- Plan and manage deliverables for performance diagnostic, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate with QA, Development, DevOps, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure proper, defined performance specifications are maintained.
Qualifications
Basic Qualification
- At least 8 years of professional work experience; minimum of 6 years experience in a Performance Engineer role.
- Experience with industry-leading Load testing tool for .NET applications with options for multiple browsers, Intel physical-server, and Cloud-based infrastructures.
- Must demonstrate experience with memory dump analysis, HP Performance Center (Loadrunner), Jmeter, Windows, Linux, Middle-ware components, and advanced system debugging.
- Familiarity with monitoring products such as Splunk, Splunk ITSI, and Splunk Machine Learning Toolkit is desired.
- Should employ Test-driven development practice in day to day activities
- Demonstratable competencies in Azure Architecture, design, and performance tuning.
- Demonstratable competencies in Windows Server & SQL Server Architecture, design, and performance tuning.
