Job Description
DMS International (DMS) is seeking Instructors for our learning services team who will be responsible for the delivery of traditional and virtual training classes in a range of leadership development subjects. As an instructor, you will be responsible for facilitating engaging and informative lessons to students in various subjects or courses. Your expertise, dedication to teaching, and ability to foster a positive learning environment will play a crucial role in the academic success and personal development of our students.
Responsibilities
- Delivers assigned courses (both traditional and virtual)
- Maintains and revises course materials as required.
- Certifies in courses according to course certification plan.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of current management best practices, training approaches, and organization/function and current activities.
- Conducts classroom administration (set-up/break down; circulates roster;), as member of a teaching team
- Participates in professional development activities (adult learning techniques, training methods, course development skills, etc.)
- Travels, as required, to deliver instruction.
- Engages students in the course content in a positive way that facilitates individual learning.
- Applies principles of adult learning theory to course delivery
- Facilitates group activities in the classroom and processes resulting behaviors.
- Manages student learning activities and participates in coaching to improve student skills (e.g., listening, questions, etc.)
- Participates in giving and receiving feedback for personal, team, and organizational growth.
Education
- MS/MA degree or higher degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, as described below. Each resume should emphasize any relevant experience with the below criteria:
- Experience conducting training and/or presentations to executive, and managers considered a subject matter expert (SME) in change management, organizational development, and/or leadership development.
- Experience conducting training and/or presentations for federal agencies, the U.S. military, law enforcement and criminal justice professionals specializing in leadership.
- Certified and experience facilitating debriefs of assessments to law enforcement executives, and managers.
- Experience working in a law enforcement environment is highly preferred.
