Job Description
As a key part of the IT & Security team at DNAnexus, the Business Applications Engineer will drive the maturity and capabilities of our key business systems (including ERP CRM). You will build systems that enable our business to more faster and with more precision. Gaining familiarity with our business processes, building trust and rapport with our business leaders, and driving simplicity and elegance in our business systems are key to your success; you will be a crucial part of the team driving our rapid market expansion.
The problems you will solve:
- As the Business Applications Engineer, you will design enterprise app architectures that meet our current and future business needs.
- You will drive maturity (Security & Operational Stability) in our existing business systems (including SalesForce and Netsuite).
- To enable rapid and accurate decision making, you will develop and optimize data pipelines from our SaaS platform to our enterprise CRM and ERP systems by working with the platform engineering team.
- The self-service analytics capabilities that you design and implement will permit our people to make rapid, accurate and consistent data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
To succeed you’ll need:
- High integrity, principles, and ethics.
- A strong understanding how standard business processes work (including lead generation, opportunity management, order to cash, expansion/growth, and financial planning)
- Prior experience with designing and implementing a technical program that included problem solving via code development (e.g. programming APEX, Python, Ruby, Go, or a similar language).
- Development experience with SalesForce, NetSuite or similar enterprise platforms.
- Proven track record of managing external service providers as part of integrated, high-quality delivery of objectives.
- Close familiarity with using public cloud services to provision SaaS/PaaS to external customers (our core business model).
- A self starter that can work independently and collaboratively across multiple workstreams without technical program management support.
- A highly collaborative, team player with a company-first mentality; ability to influence, prioritize, and get alignment cross-functionally. Able to ignite the creativity and curiosity of others.
- Flexible, nimble, and scrappy; startup mentality and willingness/ability to change direction quickly if best for the business.
- Takes a data centric, objective approach to decision making and has the ability to put aside personal preferences, historical bias, peer pressure and political influences to arrive at decisions on a reasoned, objectively-defensible basis.
