DNV Energy System’s Energy Management Business Area is seeking a Business / Program Analyst (Remote) to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will provide analytical support to our utility-led energy efficiency incentive programs by collecting, analyzing, and reporting program data. This role will also serve as the program’s point of contact with IT Teams to manage, improve and test program databases.
DNV is seeking the best candidate for this position and the position may be based out of any of DNV’s continental U.S. offices full-time or in a Remote location will be considered for the right candidate
What you’ll do
- Data Management & Reporting
- Perform a variety of quality control checks to maintain and assure the accuracy and consistency of data in tracking systems
- Implement corrective actions as needed
- Maintain existing dashboard reporting tools, identify enhancements, track

- Deliver weekly and monthly status reports
- Submit regulatory transaction report(s) within agreed upon delivery schedule and ensure they meet submission specifications
- Compile and deliver ad hoc reports as needed
- Compile reports on energy efficiency program, including energy savings, incentive calculations, technology cost impacts, and application processes/statuses
- Project Management / Financial
- Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing budgets; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Invoicing (deliver invoices for time & materials and variable compensation engagements; fixed contracts should be handled by an administrator and supervised by the analyst and manager)
- Deliver financial risk reports and support team in revenue recognition
- Database Configuration
- Database configuration (population of database lookup tables, identification of business requirements, and ensure proper database configuration)
- Ensure administrators are trained on procedures for using tracking systems, operational reports, and batch tools
- Identify gaps in systems/processes relative to business requirements and work to support team in delivering optimal solutions
- Represent project needs by engaging and supporting in product development processes
- Serve as stakeholder and communicate project business requirements
- Perform and/or manage user acceptance and regression testing and populate test case documents to support product development process
Position Qualifications
What is Required
- Bachelor’s degree in analytic discipline, such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance, or computer programming is strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience compiling and analyzing data and producing data-intensive reports
- 3-5 years SQL experience
- CRM experience (MS Dynamics 365 preferred)
- A proven and demonstrable grasp of data analysis tools such as Power BI, Oracle, or commonly used data visualization tools
- High Degree of Proficiency with Excel inclusive of Pivot Tables, Data Management Tools, and advanced formulas and functions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deliverables, and remaining flexible
- Demonstrated analytical abilities to develop and implement resolutions for business challenges and issues
- Willingness and ability to travel, as required up to approximately 10% of the year
- Excellent oral and written communications skills

What is Preferred
- 1-3 Years energy efficiency experience
- Prior experience in market research inclusive of market analysis, market assessment, and market segmentation
- Familiar with various ETL tools – for transforming different sources of data into analytics data stores. R, Python, JavaScript
- Familiarity with energy savings analysis and modeling tools
- Proficiency and understanding of financial evaluation models including NPV, ROI, IRR, and net payback
- Familiarity and experience with data reconciliation applications (e.g. month-end accounting reconciliations, accruals, inventory reconciliations, etc.)
- Prior project experience on developing IT business requirements and/or participating in complex database management system projects. Experience with JIRA is desired

As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act and New York City Salary Transparency Law, DNV provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado or New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado and New York City, NY only, the range of starting pay for this role is $60,000-$85,000USD
