What are the responsibilities and job description for the FS/QA Supervisor position at DO & CO?
We are currently recruiting a FS/QA Supervisor who would love to join our growing DO & CO team in Des Plaines, IL
Responsibilities:
Prepares implements and inspects the locations Standard Operation Procedures and maintains the facilities, food assembly, HACCP lines, follows up with all key managers to ensure all areas are covered and key personnel are trained properly.
Reviews and updates HACCP documentation, systems, and procedures.
Investigates and reviews HACCP non-compliance.
Completes regular quality control assessments and corresponding reports.
Audits the facility for; GMP, foreign objects, hygiene, and HACCP and reports back to the operations findings with recommended corrective actions.
Records all complaints, findings, corrective actions, etc.
Finds areas of trends using analytic methods. Investigates results of microbiological testing, communicates findings, creates corrective action
Manages the routine locker cleaning.
Partners with the Hygiene & Food Safety Manager to ensure that the unit meets the company’s, industries’ and regulatory standards for sanitation.
Works closely with the vendor(s) to order and maintain food grade chemicals within the facility.
Keeps appropriate par levels of these items and work with necessary managers who also have chemical usages.
Ensures MSDS are in place for all chemicals and any necessary PPE is available and trained for usage.
Monitors hygiene training and development and provides coaching, direction and leadership support to staff in the form of new hire orientation, retraining, annual retraining, etc.
Partners with supervisors and HR to implement corrective action as needed when hygiene protocols are not followed. – should this be more than 30%
Qualifications:
Deep knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems
Food Safety Certification, state specific if applicable
HACCP Certified
Proactive and self-organized
Ability to manage through a substantial workload
Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment
Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time in order to meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility (different shifts - nights, weekends, holidays)
Minimum 5 years of Hygiene, Food Safety experience preferably in a food manufacturing site
Bachelor´s Degree Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Basic or Applied Science, Environmental Science, or any other related subject.
