Duties:
§ Develop, advance, and maintain individual incarcerated individual’s career/college portfolio
§ Utilize and contribute to shared curriculum for the purposes of sector advancement and incarcerated individual development
§ Lead individual and group workshops focusing in career and college readiness as assigned by supervisor
§ Utilize best practices, current instructional methods, and relevant materials to ensure meaningful instruction
§ Track incarcerated individual progress and schedule recurring meetings to guarantee growth
§ Maintain and submit monthly reports to supervisor to ensure grant requirements are met
§ Schedule incarcerated individuals in IMS for individual and group workshops
§ Update incarcerated individual case plan as required by SOP
§ Engage in and complete 40 hours of required training within the fiscal year
§ Ensure that time entered into SSTA is accurate and punctual
§ Illustrate an understanding of current and relevant coordinating practices
§ Implement a comprehensive and working knowledge of DOC policies and procedures
§ Utilize an informed understanding of current educational assessments and activities to support incarcerated individual’s pathway
§ Complete duties as assigned that support the Division’s shared mission and vision statements
§ Engage in Division priorities and initiatives to support the progression of identified goals
§ Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the shared vision of the DOC
§ Support college programming by engaging in the recruitment, admission, and enrollment processes
§ Ensure understanding of available opportunities to finance future incarcerated individual goals post their release
§ Possess working knowledge of WIOA considerations and local workforce development plans across the Commonwealth for the purposes of successful incarcerated individual career/college reentry
§ Interact with staff and incarcerated individuals in a professional manner while employing appropriate boundaries
§ Report any and all security related concerns to your onsite supervisor promptly
§ Manage workshops in a manner that is consistent with institutional rules and regulations
§ Maintain a safe, secure, and clean working area
§ Work evening hours as needed to support the educational needs of the facility
§ Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
At least a bachelor’s degree and experience working with the adult population in the field of social sciences. Experience with developing, advising, and coordinating career/post-secondary plans. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of community resources and external agencies in the Commonwealth. Comfort and confidence with outreach and employing an entrepreneurial spirit. Organizational skills, time management, and data tracking are paramount.
Comments:
This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement.
