About Us
Doggett Concrete Construction, established in 1964, is a mid-size concrete construction company operating in North and South Carolina. Our services include commercial and residential concrete new construction as well as stone shooting, waterproofing and concrete pumping.
Position Overview
The accounting assistant will keep financial records, prepare reports, and update financial information. The accountant assistant must be familiar with accounting procedures and should have experience with accounting software programs. The ideal candidate will be able to process business transactions, including accounts payable, expense reports, cash receipts, etc. This position will also be responsible for certain receptionist responsibilities.
Position Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the AP mailbox and distribute the invoices to the appropriate queue
- Reconcile certain vendor statements
- Log into online accounts to download invoices that are missing from the statements and distributing them into the appropriate queues
- Enter truck maintenance and overhead invoices and code to the correct GL account
- Resolve invoice and other transaction discrepancies
- Answer email and questions concerning unresolved transactions and invoices
- Enter Subcontractors invoices
- Maintain COI and W-9
- Other general accounting tasks and projects as assigned
Receptionist Responsibilities (estimated 10% of time):
- Greet all visitors
- Answer phone and direct call to the appropriate person
- Open mail and distribute it to the appropriate person
- Handle all outgoing mail
- Order office and cleaning supplies
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting with specifically relevant work experience. Three or more years working with accounts payable in a for profit company.
Skills:
- Must demonstrate ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of an accounting team
- Strong accounting aptitude
- Strong work ethic
- Strong independent problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office environment
- Ability to be productive with assigned accounting tasks
- Ability to be an effective team player
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Detail orientated
