Dogtopia Area Manager
Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services, is in search of an energetic, organized, business-minded individual to lead our team as Area Manager. This is a role for someone with Multi Unit Management and an Operations background who understands hard work, how to deliver and train others to provide top customer service and a great team culture as well as ensuring a great environment for the dogs in our care. This person should love dogs- and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you! What a bonus!
The Area Manager
- The Area Manager works closely with the Store General Managers to execute the annual unit business plan.
- This role will be responsible for overseeing the success of the day to day operations, systems and tools to drive operational excellence, efficiency, consistency and profitability in their area.
The Area Manager Role
- Deliver aggregate and store level annual comp growth targets
- Maximize sales and profitability in the region
- Ensure quality consistency across the region
- Foster on-going relationships to drive influence
- Analyze daily & weekly report metrics for trends and opportunities
- Build a comprehensive communication system and cadence with store personnel and Store General Managers to ensure efficient and effective messaging utilizing all platforms and communication vehicles
- Conduct monthly P&L’s reviews and assist in performing monthly and quarterly financial analysis
- Build and execute a visitation schedule, including technology platforms and tracking metrics
- Provide ongoing training and development for staff
- Hands on approach with Back of House and Front of House Operations alongside the team.
- Drive engagement and buy-in of initiatives at the store level
Team Management
- Creates staffing schedule and monitors daily schedules
- Maintains optimum staffing and development with all employees
- Leads by example by coaching all on contributing to a positive team-oriented culture.
- Delivers written performance reviews and give employees positive acknowledgement when due!

- Onboard all employees and insure each employee has the correct amount of training
Clean and Safe Environment to ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment we take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete
- Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards.
- Dismisses dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues and monitors action plans to retain those with minor issues.
Financial and Administrative
- Manages groomers (if applicable) including quality control of work, safety, schedules and client records.
- Develops team in up-selling and using dog Evaluations to grow revenue.
- Maintains controllable expenses within budgetary constraints including forecasting, tracking and ordering supplies, minimizing payroll, and actively look for ways to maximize efficiency.
- Communicates any concerns or needs to franchise owner proactively and partnering after attempting to resolve issues.
Customer Service and Presentation
- Help all locations maintain a neat and organized Front Desk team and area at all times. This includes holding team to professional clean dress.
- Sets the example for the team on the 3 Ss (smile, story and satisfaction) and hold accountable to internal and external customer service standards.
