Doherty Career Solutions is partnering with a local Watertown, SD company as they search for a Receiving/Outsourcing Lead. The Receiving/Outsourcing Lead is responsible for serving as the lead individual for the receiving and outsourcing area.
This position establishes the daily priorities and directs employees accordingly with input from supervisor. The role includes coordinating, planning, and directing all activities involved in the receiving of goods and will be the main contact person for outside service vendors, the lead ensures that employees are properly trained to perform functions safely and efficiently. This position is M-T 6:00am-3:30pm and F 6:00am-10:00am with a competitive wage ($20.00-30.00) and 100% paid employee benefits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Essential functions are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
- Essential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job.
- They are the major functions for which the person in the job is held accountable.
- Ensure all safety requirements are followed and all staff always use appropriate PPE.
- Daily interaction with all employees in the area, providing feedback – positive and negative back to the department supervisor.
- First line of training and mentoring for all receiving staff.
- Follow accurate receiving procedures for incoming freight and product and ensure delivery and/or notification to appropriate department or personnel.
- Receive all outside service, raw stock, UPS, Fed Ex etc.
- Ensure counts are accurate and all parts are received into the system.
- Create necessary documents for all products needing secondary or outsourced processes.
- Ensure all parts are sent to outside service on time.
- Train all material handlers in safety and all requirements pertaining to the department
- Provide input to supervisor for employee performance reviews.
EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED.
- This individual must possess 2 years of experience.
- Must be able to multitask and work independently.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Flexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
- Understanding and support of policies and procedures.
- Safety conscious behavior.
