Job Details
General Summary:
Directs the production, design, content, and delivery of information targeted to store managers and field managers that communicates initiatives and processes for Merchandising, Store Operations, Finance, Legal, HR, Supply Chain and Information Systems departments. Creates and maintains communication schedules and workflow calendars. Leads teams (both internal department and business partners) through strategic planning, project management, measurement, and reporting of “end to end” specific work initiatives for our retail stores.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct the strategic communications planning to support current and future initiatives as well as the day-to-day business. Develop production schedules for all forms of communications. Lead key cross-functional communications projects that will deliver value to the user. Ensure that milestones are met, and deliverables are achieved.
- Leadership and optimization of the task management/store walk software solution including user adoption, management of system data and reporting
- Participate as a subject matter expert on store processes as a store operation’s representative, including field teams where possible. Liaise with field management (RD, DM, SM) to ensure understanding and execution of key store processes that deliver results
- Identify, evaluate and implement processes to maintain all field facing tools and websites
- Provide leadership and supervision to direct reports and others. Coach and develop direct reports in communication and planning skills and techniques
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of retail operations combined with proven project management skills
- Ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues, find effective improvement opportunities, and execute initiatives with sustainable results
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills including a willingness to provide consistently superior customer service, the ability to react appropriately under pressure, the ability to apply good judgement in ambiguous situations, and demonstrated flexibility/adaptability.
- Ability to think creatively, demonstrating energy, passion and vision for connecting with the store manager and field audience
- Strong proficiency in all MS applications
- Experience with business reporting tools
- Outstanding verbal, written and technical communication abilities
Work Experience &/or Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field required. Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in an operations position (retail operations preferred), including communications responsibilities. Minimum of five years of management experience leading direct reports.
