What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager, Connect position at Doma?
We are looking for an experienced leader to help manage and grow the team building our Cloud Platform. This platform will power the future growth for the company by providing a reliability, security, and ease of use for our product engineering teams. Our Cloud Platform is still in it’s early phases of development and is built on Azure using Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) extensively. You will be responsible for working with multiple stakeholders to build alignment on project plans and roadmap, drive effective execution, and hire and mentor engineers. You have:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience hiring and leading high performance engineering teams
- 7 years professional experience in full stack software development
- A track record of delivering multiple projects on time and experience working with enterprise focused engineering teams
- Experience leading the delivery of large-scale cloud based systems
- Experience working closely with customers
- Ability to think strategically and translate business needs into effective engineering execution by removing roadblocks and providing guardrails for the teams to succeed
- Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience with agile development processes, planning, and prioritization of projects in collaboration with product and design leads
- Leadership principles rooted in empathy, feedback, and empowering people
- Strong opinions, loosely held, about all things engineering
- Computer Science or related field degree or equivalent experience
