Assistant Controller / Account Manager

Job Description:
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and ensure completeness of the general ledger accounting data
- Record period end accounting entries (e.g. accruals, adjustments, etc.)
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and certifications
- Review P&L statements and identify the key drivers of variances to budget, prior year, and flash forecasting estimates
- Coordinate with other accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, financial reporting, fixed assets, payroll, and sales tax to ensure that the general ledger is accurately stated
- Maintain appropriate internal controls and adhere to Company policy and procedures. Ensure there are no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses.
- Provide internal customers with general ledgers, P&Ls, and financial summaries upon close of the financial period
- Communicate with internal customers on outstanding accounting issues, problems, or concerns.
- Be a subject matter expert and act as a resource to internal customers on financial statements and the General Ledger
Special projects as needed
- Assist with providing documentation for internal and external audit requests!
- Provide training to other general ledger accounting staff
- Other ad-hoc projects as deemed necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Finance
- 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze financial information.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
- Self-Motivated and able to work independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and database applications
- CPA Preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year
