What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ingot Processor position at Doncasters Group?
At Doncasters, we have an exciting opportunity for a Ingot Processor to join our team in Production team.
This is a 3rd shift opportunity to work with motivated employees to become a part of a successful Superalloy Company.
The Role
Breakdown: Ingots and molds are broken down from mold tables onto pallets or loaded into the Pushout Press by use of a forklift. If required, the ingots are sequenced.
Pushout: Ingots are removed from the molds by use of the large diameter pushout press.
Cropping: The "hot top" of the ingots are cut off from the ingot. The ingot is inspected for pipe and re-cut if required. The ingots are steel stamped with the heat number.
Centerless Grinding or Rotoblasting: As required by customer specifications, the ingots are either surface (centerless) ground or rotoblasted. Centerless ground ingots will have any oxidized "skin" removed from the ingot surface.
Spot Grinding: Hand (spot) grinders are used to remove any oxidized "skin" not removed by centerless grinding. Bottom ("butt") ends are ground to remove any flashing or mold wash from the ingot surface.
Final Inspection: All ingots are alloy type checked, checked for pipe tolerances, stenciled along their length, rubber stamped on the bottom end and packaged for shipping.
Salary Range: $20.00 -$22.00 based on skills
Requirements:
Basic ability to read, write and understand English. Must be able to understand and fill out paperwork and have basic computer skills. Must be able to occasionally lift 80 lbs. Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required by the job. Must be able to communicate and work with coworkers and supervisors. Forklift driving is required.
