Job Information
As a Procurement Project Specialist, you will represent the Procurement organization on assigned projects. Project types could include NPD (New Product Development), R & D (Research and Development), VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), Innovation, and Business Systems. Tasks include management of the procurement of materials during the development phase through product launch. This scope includes all purchased commodities for a successful project launch, potentially including highly engineered and tooled components.
Role & Responsibility
- Support projects as sourcing lead
- Coordinate and implement supply strategies to achieve ongoing cost, quality, and delivery improvements for assigned project
- Collaborate and support procurement team with supplier selection including new supplier on-boarding
- Ensure early and ongoing supplier and procurement involvement in the NPD process
- Manage purchased part quotations and cost estimates
- Prepare budgets for vendor tooling investments, returnables, and other suppliers’ expenses as well as support and audit project and product financial costing
- Build strong value-adding relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and cross-functional departments
- Facilitate meetings with engineering, operations, sourcing, planning, and additional stakeholders on solving problems
- Advise sourcing management of any potential major supplier problems and risks that could adversely affect the supply of components
- Understand and communicate agreements (nondisclosure, supply and warranty) including terms and conditions
- Assist planning in minimizing inventory and obsolescence and supply forecast and schedules as required
- Assist in maintaining data integrity in all related systems
- Support other duties as assigned
Job Requirement
- Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related fields
- Experience Required: 2-5 years in related field
- Project management experience a plus
- Travel Required: less than 10%
