We are a local breakfast and lunch cafe looking for someone experienced in hospitality to join our team as a professional Cafe Server. As a Cafe Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction and creating a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for serving people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Taking customer orders and delivering them accurately and promptly
- Providing recommendations and making suggestions to guests based on their preferences
- Knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
- Upselling and promoting menu items, specials, and promotions
- Setting up and maintaining the dining area, ensuring cleanliness and organization
- Handling cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling procedures
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure food is delivered in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining knowledge of current menu items, specials, and promotions
- Providing excellent customer service and addressing customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar upscale casual dining environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
