What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Ranger position at Douthat State Park?

The Cook ensures the highest standard of sanitation and cleanliness possible in all food service, preparation, and storage areas. Knows and uses all safety procedures (as specified in “ServSafe” training), associated with all food services equipment and food prep and service. Ensures the security of all food and equipment in the park, monitoring its economical and efficient use, and reports any variations of procedures to supervisors. Ensures food is prepared only after written check/ticket is presented to the kitchen. Follows Park menus and recipes to ensure standardization of quality, presentation and cost control. Works following efficient, timely, (all orders must be served within 20 minutes) safe and cost-effective procedures to ensure restaurant profitability. Ensures that the highest possible level of customer service is maintained at all times. Prepares food and supply orders. Monitors equipment for the proper operation and maintenance and reports problems to supervisors. Cleans and maintains a safe and sanitary facility. Helps with annual inventories. Performs, as the occasion requires, any additional duties requested by his/her supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to observe and practice safe food handling practices per ServSafe guidelines.
- Requires standing, bending and working indoors in a hot, fast-paced environment. On occasion, may be required to work outdoors exposed to the elements.
- Must be able to work well with other staff and park guests.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
