What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Manager position at Dover Corp?
Dover Precision Components is hiring an accounting- based Finance Manager. We are a world leader in the design and manufacture ofandfor a variety of rotating equipment across. We offer competitive pay and benefits and the ability to be a key accounting and finance leader onsite and within the Dover Precision Components' finance organization. This is a hybrid position- work remotely 2 days a week (if you'd like) and onsite 3 days a week in Houston (located on the southside, near Pearland, TX).
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.
- Prepare financial reports and present findings and recommendations to management.Manage month-end close process for the site.
- Provide forecast projections including sales, expense and investment analysis used to drive business decisions.
- Prepare Annual Operating Plan inputs for site.
- Develop and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to align with delivery of desired service level to the business.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, with emphasis on bookings 'in take' scenarios. Evaluate sales plans and generate upside and downside risk profiles based upon customer and market insights.
- Monitor results against developed budgets. Collaborate with Site Leadership to deliver results within budgetary considerations.
- Implement, monitor, and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls. Ensure controls are operating as designed to comply with Dover Core Internal Controls (CIC) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).
- Coordinate audits and balance sheet reviews.
- Prepare and report to Dover Corporate tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and annual tax packages.
- Monitor expense trends for research and development including involvement with new product development projections and ROI computations.
- Plan and integrate acquired businesses into the organization.
- Promote Continuous Improvement culture. Utilize CI methods to raise accuracy (quality), improve processing time, and enhance reporting.
- Work to increase employee productivity through elimination of redundant activities, root cause investigations, and automation through use of Lean methods.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Accounting and Finance roles, preferably within manufacturing environment. Experience to include financial statements, Annual Operating Plan, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel. Proficient with Word and Power Point.
- Ability to work with a high degree of confidentiality is mandatory due to the sensitive nature of information in area of responsibility.
- Acumen for dealing with financial concepts and accuracy critical to position requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- Strong ERP system experience.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, and/or supervising others.
