Job Title: Global Commodity Leader

Location: Conyers, GA

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a Commodity Leader for indirect goods and services, transportation, capital equipment, and some direct goods, as required.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

• Drive procurement change across the organization as the focal point for indirect spending.
• Develop the direction and vision in strategic sourcing of indirect goods and services; design and develops indirect procurement processes, practices, procedures, and goals.
• Identify, assess, and secure best-in-class sources globally.
• Develop, implement and refine indirect sourcing strategies that result in enhanced value, breakthrough total cost reductions, and continuous improvement for all indirect spend categories.
• Develop cost models to ensure industry competitiveness and identify opportunities based on appropriate cost drivers.
• Work closely with corporate sourcing to align DFR sites to preferred strategic suppliers
• Act as liaison between corporate logistics and site logistics to transition carrier contracts
• Interact with parties within and outside of related to own technical discipline. Works to influence parties to accept content limited to their own discipline areas.
• Establish a dashboard to track category spend, inflation/deflation, key projects, and total savings.
• Oversee the purchasing and/or contracting for decontrolled materials, supplies, equipment, and services for the operation of the Company. Confer with requesting parties when specific sources are requested added or changed.
• Establish and maintain purchasing practices, contracts, assessments, and policies to ensure honest, fair, and ethical relationships with our vendors. Keeps informed on legal matters that affect purchasing policies.
• Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery.
• Keep abreast of materials and markets and materials pricing trends that affect Company products.
• Provide direction for evaluating, implementing, and maintaining systems to optimize the procurement and maintenance of all product materials.
• Provide leadership in supplier negotiation sessions including articulating clear negotiation strategies.
• Assist with the construction of Capital Expenditure proposals and leads proposal through approval up to the Executive level, while ensuring proper protocol is followed throughout the process
• Identify problems and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques drawing from personal experiences and feedback. Apply mastery of a specific professional discipline or broader expertise in most or all areas within a function.
• Other duties as assigned.

What are the basic qualifications?

• Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience (10 years) or advanced professional certification or Master's degree with 8 years of experience in a specialized field.

What are the preferred qualifications?

• Master’s degree or APICS certification
• Minimum 5 years of Sourcing experience with at least 2 years experience in Indirect Sourcing, including CapEx

To be a great fit for the role:

• Experience with ERP systems
• Intermediate Excel & PowerPoint skills
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Prior experience in developing and implementing category strategies and sourcing efforts for indirect items.
• Experience in a multi-site, manufacturing environment
• Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to executive level management
• Experience with drafting, reviewing, and approving legally binding agreements with suppliers
• Oracle experience
• Power BI experience
