We are in search of a Pharmacy Technician located in Savannah, Georgia (Zip code 31406)
Job Responsibilities:
- Adds measured drugs or nutrients to intravenous solutions under sterile conditions to prepare intravenous (IV) packs under pharmacist supervision
- Answers telephone, responding to questions or requests
- Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items or referring them to the pharmacist for medication information
- Computes charges for medication and equipment dispensed to hospital clients
- Enters medical and demographic data into a computer and assists in production and preparation of reports (including billing information)
- Fills bottles with prescribed medications and types and affixes labels
- Mixes pharmaceutical preparations according to written prescriptions
- Prices and files prescriptions that have been filled
- Receives written prescription or refills requests and verifies that information is complete and accurate
- Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers, and labels the containers
- Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile, disposable syringes, using aseptic techniques
Entry Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience working in a pharmacy.
Licensed Pharmacy Tech Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to Entry Qualifications, Preferred Qualifications may be added by the agency.
