Housekeeping Job Description

Housekeeping Mission Statement: To keep the mall and restrooms clean and respond to any safety or emergency issues while providing excellent customer service to mall customers.

Essential Job Duties:

• Regular attendance at the assigned work location is an essential function in order to perform the job
• Report anything unusual or needed repairs to the property manager • Respond to customer concerns about safety & cleaning issues
• Put out wet floor sign when needed
• Mop up spills and place a wet floor sign near the area until dry to ensure the safety of mall customers & staff.
• Pick up or sweep up paper and trash throughout the mall (check underneath benches also)
• Remove paper from planters throughout the mall and clean and dust bricks when needed
• Clean or dust sign holders throughout the mall
• Dust ledges, sweep floor, and clean walls on vacant bays when needed
• Clean tops and sides of trash cans
• Remove gum and other foreign substances from floors
• Return strollers, shopping carts, and wheelchairs back to the area where they belong
• Clean bricks and walls when needed
• Check for cobwebs and remove
• Check restrooms every half hour for spills, paper, and to see if toilet, vanity, and urinals need to be cleaned or unplugged.
• Clean restroom mirrors when needed
• Replace soaps and air freshener canisters when emptied
• Check and empty trash cans
• Spot clean door glass, thresholds, and dust window and door frames at the entryways
• Remove any gum or spills on cement at exterior entrances
• Sift/empty smoking urns
• Vacuum mats when needed
• Sweep parking lot and pick up trash
• Unlock mall entrance doors if part of your assigned schedule
• Turn off entrance lights if still on when leaving and turn them on in the morning when needed

Other:

• Help with snow removal when needed
• Take down flags at night and put them back up in the morning

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.10 per hour
