Construction Safety Coordinator

Summary
DPS is looking to add a EH&S Coordinator will provide support on construction projects. This includes conducting frequent safety visits to job sites/client facilities, assisting in developing and conducting EH&S training programs, and providing safety coaching and mentoring. This role will be onsite in Cleveland, MS.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides on-site safety support for construction management projects.
• Conducts visits for on-site safety compliance and provide appropriate and timely follow-up.
• Actively participates in team meetings, chairs on-site safety meetings, conducts toolbox talks, and other safety related communications and training.
• Ensures implementation and maintenance of safety programs at office and project site locations.
• Assists in providing coaching to ensure continuous improvement.
• Develops and conducts EH&S training under supervision.
• Conducts other duties as designated by Senior Leadership

Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Excellent verbal, written and communications skills
• CHST, OSHA 30 Certified
• Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently.
• Plans for additional resources. Integrates changes smoothly. Sets goals and objectives. Works in an organized manner.
• Strongly motivated, well organized, and shows professional initiative.
• This position will work in an office, or construction site.
• Life Sciences Facility Design Experience a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Bluebeam.
