Position Overview:
Apply highly effective and efficient procurement processes and systems to ensure the availability and quality of materials required to serve the company.
Responsibilities:
- Review material requirement planning (MRP) orders in SAP (System generated requests) and manually generated requests, gathers quotes.
- Create and verify accurate information to order placing efficiently in SAP-GUI for procurement of parts.
- Verify the requisitions with requestors from all departments and coordinate with Sr. Buyer to ensure buying practices are efficient.
- Ensure products are delivered in a timely manner, and quality of the goods received is satisfactory
- Update Certificates of Insurance in Square 9 and Contractors Corner.
- Compares prices amongst various vendors in order to make sound purchasing decisions.
- Orders goods such as office supplies on a continuing basis in order to maintain certain inventory levels.
- Research and recommend vendors for obtaining specifications, criteria, and other information for goods.
- Reconciliation of invoices for administrative purchases such as water, coffee and other supplies and services such as trash pickup.
- Attend daily plant operation coordination meetings.
- Assist warehouse crew when needed moving parts and equipment.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months in a purchasing position.
- 1-2 years of industry experience in mining or related field.
- Efficient in SAP/MM module.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Accounting Software (SQ9).
- Negotiation/Business skills highly preferred.
