About the role:
Our Helpdesk Technician would be responsible for day-to-day operational troubleshooting. Based on IT support requests you’ll need to quickly prioritize in a busy environment. The ability to quickly analyze a desktop issue and resolve it is very important. Desktop issues could include any of the following: connectivity, performance, access to apps, printing, network shares, required upgrades [software/hardware], and handling security vulnerabilities. Physically moving equipment is a requirement and in certain situations, you may get dirty.
The candidate should know about most computer systems, security, networking and minor systems administration, databases, data storage, printing, and phone systems.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.
- Responsible for all aspects of Windows operating system support including software updates and upgrades, performance management, and capacity planning for the Windows environment.
- Monitor the performance of information technology and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
- Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture, and processes. Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems.
- Required close contact and open communication with an onsite IT Consultant.
- Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time. Also, assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience working in IT Operations and relevant is required.
- The applicant with a bachelor’s degree would be preferred ideally in Information Technology or Systems, Computer Science.
- Experience in managing and overall support of Microsoft Active Directory including support of file services, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and OU definition/management is required.
- Experience in virtual infrastructure (VMware), Office 365 products, and related apps (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, One Note, etc.) required.
- Previous experience working in an enterprise environment providing technical support for Microsoft Windows O/S servers, desktop/laptop endpoints, and networks is required. Also, experience in managing Windows Server 2016 thru 2022 is required.
- Experience in Microsoft Remote Desktop & Security tools – email, anti-virus, web protection, etc. will be a plus.
- Candidates with Google, Microsoft, or CompTIA certifications will be preferred.
