Responsibilities/Qualifications
Drees Homes is currently seeking a motivated, self-starter for a Senior Estimator position working out of our Division office location in Houston, TX. In this position you will be responsible for performing costing, estimating, pricing, and cost analysis of home products and bill of materials.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Maintain all pricing in JD Edwards
•Review contracts and processing all EGMs at sales
•Check all plans as requested from Architecture or Engineering for errors
•Coordinate with Production to recommend and assign contractors to communities
•Assist in preparing paperwork for contracts and assure information is correct and complete
•Coordinate with Sales on brochures and plan changes
•Responsible for training and support to all Estimators and staff
•Other duties as assigned by Manager
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
•Ability to read bidsets, architectural plans as well as construct cost estimates•Understand construction means and methods •Experience conducting bid analysis and bidding procurement
•Analytical, detail-minded, and a good communicator (internal and external customers)•Self-motivated to be able to multi-task and meet deadlines•A problem solver who can take ownership of projects
•A team player with the ability to adapt quickly to change
Requirements:
•College degree in related field of study or equal field experience
•Strong general computer skills, advanced skill level in Excel•A minimum of 5 years estimating experience with a Production Homebuilder
•Residential construction field experience a plus
•Strong experience with JD Edwards is a must
•On Screen programs or estimating software is a plus
•This person should be detailed, confident, and autonomous
The schedule of this position will be Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM plus additional hours as necessary.
