Financial Planning & Analysis Director

Location: Chicago preferred (flexible with manager approval)

The Finance team is looking to add its second FP&A associate. This role will place a particular emphasis on the operational expense side of our company. You will report to the VP of Finance, and partner with business owners across Operations, Accounting, and other teams to facilitate financially sound decision making.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Accounting and functional leads to manage and execute reporting and variance tracking, including month-end close
• Serve as the “owner” of operational expense accounts within FP&A team
• Perform product margin analysis and support ROI assessments 
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting with particular emphasis on OpEx
• Coordinate with senior management during routine budget cycles
• Support continuous enhancement of the monthly reporting processes
• Data retrieval, input, and maintenance for various financial models
• Assemble external reporting materials such as Board Deck slides
• Assist with future implementation of financial systems and tools
• Support the revenue side of FP&A team as needed
• Perform financial modeling and data analysis activities as needed
• Perform various ad-hoc and strategic analysis as needed
• Report to VP of Finance

Requirements

• You are a firm believer in the sustainability mission
• You are curious and find the questions that have not been asked yet
• You exhibit ownership and accountability in your work
• You are a self-starter who can prioritize and juggle multiple tasks
• Microsoft Excel and modeling expertise is a must!
• You are able to interface with BI tools and exhibit data fluency
• Foundational understanding of GAAP and key financial principles
• CPA or CFA certification is not required, but does not hurt!
• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in areas such as FP&A, Accounting, Audit, Valuation, or Consulting
• Flexible work location; preferred in Chicago
