Project Description

DRT is seeking a Grants Management Specialist to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Job Summary

• Support any of the three funding vehicles in the branch; PHHS Block Grant, OT20-2004/OT18-1803 or PHAB
• Create funding memos and enter recipient’s budget data in Grants Solutions software
• Support and track the processing of continuation and supplement awards for each funding vehicle
• Participate in process improvement efforts by automating time-consuming tasks and creating job-aids/resources to cross-train staff so they are better able to support all lanes of work
• Assist with knowledge management activities; this includes creating a centralized location for all branch resources, job aids and documents for easy access
• Support PHHS Block Grant system creation and implementation; includes testing the new database and training external recipients on how to use the new system
• Read assigned recipient progress reports and write one-page descriptions of recipient activities to be used for data calls and other communications
• Enter new grant/CoAg award announcements into the internal CDC Forecasting Portal
• Participate in weekly team meetings
• Able to assist with any other tasks that arise.
• Support reporting requirements associated with CDC grant applications.
• Review grant application activities and budgets to ensure they are compliant with funding requirements.
• Work with IT team to ensure that new and changing grant funding requirements are incorporated into the grants management system.
• Make recommendations for grant lifecycle process improvements.
• Develop performance improvement tools and make recommendation to achieve grant funding efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical support to CDC Grantees.

Required Experience

• 3 years of experience in Federal Government grants management.
• Understanding of CDC grants management workflows and processes
• Analyzing grants data and creating report.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Providing technical assistant to grant awardees.
• Previous experience with CDC programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities preferred
• Ability to think critically about current processes and suggest improvements
• Ability to work on a team
• Experience working with grants or cooperative agreements
• Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions
 

Preferred Experience

Experience with Power BI or Visio

Education and Training

• Bachelor or Master’s in Public Health, Communications, Public Policy or related field
