Job Title: EHS Manager
Location: Greater Hagerstown, West Virginia Area
Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team in the Greater Hagerstown, West Virginia area. The EHS Manager will lead all EHS initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company standards.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are promptly taken.
- Coordinate and deliver effective EHS training programs for employees at all levels to promote awareness and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage and optimize waste management, recycling, and environmental sustainability programs to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational planning and decision-making processes.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; develop root cause analyses and implement preventive measures to reduce recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS activities, including permits, inspections, training records, and incident reports.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to recommend and implement continuous improvements in EHS performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in EHS management within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage employees at all organizational levels.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS management systems, conducting risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
