What you’ll do:
Come help us develop talent within the DSM organization and support our employees in their professional development. As HR Business Partner, you’ll be a trusted business partner to the Leadership Team of the Belvidere site and report directly to the People Partner Lead Operations North America. You will assess and anticipate HR-related needs and seek to deliver and develop integrated solutions, while formulating partnerships with the business to deliver value-added service to the organization. You will be an employee champion, comfortable playing the role of challenger, and a strong change agent.

Key responsibilities:
- Be a trusted advisor to the business, establishing strong relationships with management/employees and fully understanding the strengths, challenges and needs of the operation
- Facilitate employee relations, workforce management, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity and inclusion
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to people managers (coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions)
- Collaborate with business leaders on employee engagement, working as partners to improve work relationships, build employee morale and impact employee retention
- Partner with the business to understand workforce needs and trends to ensure the site is staffed properly
- Manage day-to-day employee relations and ensure regulatory compliance
This position is eligible for the Hybrid Working Model, spending 3 days/week on site and the balance of the week working from a remote home office that is commutable to the Belvidere site.
You bring:
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in HR generalist roles, with specific experience in a manufacturing operations environment required
- Confidence and strong personal presence – you shake up the status quo, while gaining the respect of both peers and senior management
- Skilled at solving business problems (lean/six sigma experience is a plus)
- Outstanding communication and strong influence skills – you present ideas and recommendations in a way that gains support from the business
- Ability to inspire the business to embrace change
- In-depth knowledge of US legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employee relations and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Bachelor’s degree, with preference for degree in HR, organizational management or business
