Position: Psychiatric Technician
Job Summary:
As a Psychiatric Technician at McWealth Care Inc., you will play a crucial role in implementing intensive behavioral management plans for our residents, with a focus on one client with specific needs. You will work collaboratively with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and our multidisciplinary team to ensure the proper and consistent implementation of behavioral interventions, enhancing the safety and well-being of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and intervene in complex behavioral situations using specialized knowledge and skills.
- Establish therapeutic communication and rapport with clients to facilitate responsive and cooperative dynamics.
- Apply targeted behavioral intervention strategies, both preventive and corrective.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques for de-escalation during behavioral crises.
- Collaborate closely with BCBAs to translate behavioral plans into daily interventions.
- Educate and support other staff members on best practices in behavioral health.
Requirements:
- Certified Psychiatric Technician (CPT) licensure is required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting, preferably with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic communication, behavioral intervention, and crisis management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong commitment to enhancing the safety and well-being of clients with complex needs.
