The Billing Assistant, Settlement is a highly organized and customer service oriented position that involves communicating with customers and finalizing invoices due to internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Applies industry terms and concepts.
- Provides Customer Service to both internal and external customers by applying interpersonal communication techniques. Investigate and resolve customer inquiries concerning billing or credits memos.
- Compiles data, compute fees and charges, and review paperwork to ensure completeness.
- Proof and prepare files for payment and invoicing purposes.
- Investigate and respond to billing issues/inquiries
- Uses computer to enter, access and retrieve customer data. Use alpha and numeric keyboarding skills to perform data entry.
- Uses basic business math skills to compute record and verify financial transactions and maintains records.
- Examines pertinent information to determine accuracy of customers' account, and reconciles any discrepancies in records and accounts.
- Notifies customers and appropriate personnel of findings, adjustments, and recommendations, such as credit to customers' accounts or adjustment to customers' bills.
- Performs various clerical duties in accordance with the established office procedures. This may include operation of general office machines (e.g. fax, copy, postage meter and adding).
- Motivates and supports co-workers, integrate and promote the Company Values into daily actions and interactions (Integrity, Innovation, Teamwork, Dedication and Respect).
- Researches, communicates and finalizes balance due invoices with internal/external customers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months of customer service experience with an emphasis in Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office, and 10 key proficient
Language Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal)
Mathematical Skills
- Intermediate
