What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator, Pricing Analyst position at DSV?
This position is responsible for estimating the Project transport costs to undertake the delivery of major wind turbine components from global supply points to locations across North America. This encompasses the movement of major oversize components in a multimodal supply chain via numerous transportation channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as transport, materials handling, inspection, storage and labor expenses
- Read scope of work, schedules and other technical documents in order to prepare estimates
- Collaborate with subcontractors, client, internal resources to produce estimates
- Evaluate cost-effectiveness or profitability of projects
- Recommend solutions that improve cost reductions and /or profitability
- Prepare estimates and bids for client’s sales teams
- Draft schedules and cash flow forecasts for the duration of the project
- Maintain a database of historical and current pricing
- Assist in the preparation of bids to subcontractors and the evaluation of the same
- Track actual spend to estimated spend
- Actively promote a culture of health and safety and participate in safety reviews and progress meetings
- Create and develop an enjoyable working environment, promoting free thinking hard work and mile-stone delivery
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced user of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- General knowledge of freight forwarding is preferable
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- 3 years of progressive experience in estimating
- Strong math and analytical skills
