Purpose of the position


This position is part of DSV Air & Sea division. The primary duty is to process shipment that range in complexity, which may include overland road, oversized or out of gauge shipments.
These tasks are to be performed within the Company standards with emphasize on cost efficiency and industry standards.


Key Tasks
  • Receive, review and process export shipments from local shippers and DSV offices worldwide
  • Confirm incoterms, billing parties and shipping green light with the shipment stakeholders.
  • Arrange bookings with shipping lines carriers and other vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with worldwide offices/agents regarding documentation for exports.
  • Monitor the process of the shipment using track and tracing tools
  • Adhere to all domestic and international shipping regulations.
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service, by informing clients of the status of shipments and referring clients to a higher-level authority when questions are beyond scope of responsibility.
  • Advise department Supervisor, or Manager of any transaction problems or irregularities.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, and follow up on payment if a COD customer
  • Ensure costing is accurate and updated in a timely manner
  • Ensure department KPI are being met / adhered to.
  • Negotiate with cartage companies, warehousing and shipping lines as needed

Educational background / Work experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years international transportation industry experience preferred, or a minimum of two years of college courses in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of study.
  • CIFFA certificate, an asset

Language Skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Other local language, (as required)

Computer Literacy
  • MS Office, intermediate software skills
  • Experience with CargoWise, an asset
