Job Duties & Expectations:

  • Creates and reinforces a customer service approach when interacting with employees and co-workers.
  • Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
    Promotes and merchandises parts and accessories in conjunction with other DTG locations.
  • Creates the Parts Department budget and goals in alignment with the organizations financial and operational objectives.
    Responsible for metrics assigned to the parts department for overall service, performance and profitability.
    Accountable to ensure department budgets are maintained; control spending.
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper procedures.
    Submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit.
  • Maximizes use of all order discount programs, such as national account pricing, to achieve management stock order goals.
  • Weekly location department manager meeting (Sales, Parts, Service).
  • Identify opportunities for asset or capital improvements in the department. Make necessary requests to division leadership for approval.
    Ensures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
  • Works with Service Manager on all department metrics.
  • Works with Service Manager on day to day operations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Maximize vendor partnerships to their full potential

    Personnel Management:
    Assist with ensuring daily appropriate staffing coverage of key positions during absences and identify when changes to staffing levels are needed.
    Assist in developing a positive reputation and image in the community that is consistent with the

  • organizations mission, vision, and values.
    May attend periodic meetings with senior leadership to obtain direction and guidance on company goals.
  • Manage recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position.
  • Maintain strategic training goals for department.
  • Updates job knowledge with yearly training and certification courses completed as directed by Service Manager. Stays up to date with latest trade journals and other resources.

Facility:
Identify opportunities for asset or capital improvements in the department. Make necessary requests to leadership for approval. Implement capital improvement changes after approval is obtained.
As a management team ensure a professional appearance of the facility and surrounding property.

Essential Job Functions:

Requirements

  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess a valid driver license and retain an insurable driving record

Preferences

  • Associate Degree or additional equivalent work experience
  • 5 years work experience
  • 3 years experience job relevant equivalent experience
  • Experience leading others
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft office and internet functions
