Job Title: DCPC Triage Assistant
Reports to: DCPC Supervisor
We’re seeking to fill multiple positions for this role. The clinics are located in Los Lunas, Cedar Crest, Edgewood and Moriarty. Please specify which location(s) you would like to be considered for.
Overview/Job Purpose
The Triage Assistant is responsible for communicating with patients and Provider/MA teams to ensure prompt scheduling, response times, and clear communication occurs in regards to Primary Care appointment scheduling.
Summary of Duties:
As a Triage Assistant at Duke City Primary Care, your day-to-day duties may include, but are not limited to, the various tasks below:
- Open all pertinent applications to manage scheduling, triage, and communications with team
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance, room in-house patients or call patient for video or phone visits and start triage process
- Discharging patients
- Assisting MAs and providers, reviewing where/when to get orders done following visit
- Appointment triaging
- Patient charting for completed or referred visits
- Scheduling follow up appointments
- Follow scripting for all calls and follow triage process
- Generating referrals following all processes pertaining to referrals
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent or currently enrolled in high school
Physical Demands Requirements:
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
- Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people
- Requires sitting and repetitive movement
Behavioral Demands/Requirements:
- Must have the appropriate level of behavioral maturity and patience in handling patients.
- Must have the diplomacy and tact in handling difficult and irate patients
- Very good interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co-employees, patients, and customers
- Outstanding communication skills and persuasiveness, specifically the ability to communicate instructions and procedures for treatments, keeping and giving the patients a desired level of comfort and confidence
- Must have strong sensitivity to the needs and anxieties of patients and the ability to motivate patients to undergo treatments and/or procedures
- Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
