What You Will Do:
The primary role of the GIS Technician is to provide support to the Engineering and Data teams by creating and designing drawings, maps, and figures for water, sewer, and stormwater evaluation and rehabilitation design projects.
Essential Functions/Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to produce accurate 2d and 3d drawings and maps
- Produce accurate drafting and annotation for plan and detail sheets
- Import and integrate GIS and GPS data into various platforms
- Design plans using CAD software, or willing to learn
- Create and revise production and design drawings
- Review drawings to ensure compliance
- Assist in developing survey maps and layouts
- Travel to job sites to support field operations if necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Have at least 2 (two) years of hands-on professional experience utilizing GIS programs and data, along with an understanding of how they interface with CAD
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Geography, or related field preferred
- Have GIS and/or AutoCAD certification(s), preferred
- ESRI experience required
- Working knowledge of 3D profiles, Xrefs, importing survey points and ability to collect GPS coordinates and integrate into GIS/AutoCAD
- Ability to develop and design drawings from GIS/GPS data
- Strong ability to successfully collaborate and work cross-functionally in support of the Data, Engineering and GIS teams
- Strong communication skills required, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to quickly adapt to working new software applications and data sets
- Solid ability to understand data, identify trends, and tell the story of that data
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Experience using Civil 3D, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Advanced Excel, pivot tables, dashboard creation, and/or data mining experience a plus
