Reporting to the SVP of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for providing day to day operations management and people leadership for assigned region. You are responsible for managing the water/wastewater/stormwater projects and services that we provide for our customers, managing field operations including the performance and safety of our crews, and ensuring company equipment, vehicles, and tools are in safe working order. In this role, you are as comfortable working in an office environment as you are performing work in the field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Direct and coordinate operations workflow with field superintendents and project managers to achieve optimum use of materials, labor and equipment, including recommending and monitoring project work and expenditures to control costs
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, equipment maintenance, and operational policies, protocols, and regulations
- Manage the efficient operations and coordination of assigned projects, crews and equipment with strong focus on safety in each of these areas
- Manage field superintendents and crews in multiple states including hiring, training, and performance management
- Prepare, review and maintain reports and records such as budgets, work project analyses, surveys, work order progress and status reports, maintenance requests, equipment specifications, and operating costs
- Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of financial and budgeting processes and principles including EBITDA, profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash-flow management required
- Knowledge of applicable safety, OSHA, DOT, federal, state, and local laws, requirements, and regulations required
- Knowledge of underground pipeline infrastructure operations, construction, engineering, water, or oil & gas industries preferred
- Ability to positively build and maintain relationships with both internal teams, external customers, vendors, and local, state, and federal agencies
- Ability to lead and manage teams of people with a positive attitude and engaging manner is essential in this position
- Ability to communicate in both written and verbal manners clearly, directly, respectfully, and professionally required
- Experience writing business reports, correspondence, and operations procedure manuals required
- Knowledge of CDL driver regulations preferred
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions around water/wastewater/stormwater environment and confined spaces required
- Ability to travel to project sites required, including out of town and overnight stays, up to 50% of the time
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Management, or similar preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Minimum of five (5) years of related operations management experience required
- Minimum of five (5) years of related people management experience required
- NASSCO certification is a plus!
- Project Management certification and experience preferred
- Experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), SharePoint, ERP systems, expense reporting systems, etc. required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to travel up to 50% of the time via car and airplane with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and/or travel out of town based on project and location needs
- Ability to perform work in an office and in the field required

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work will be done in both an office and outdoor project site locations
- Working with computers required
- Occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity or wetness, excessive noise, and working at heights
- Willingness and ability to work around biohazards such as bloodborne pathogens and sewage required

Salary : $84,600 - $107,000
