General Description of the Job Class
Perform a variety of manual duties associated with cleaning, servicing and delivering in assigned areas.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Clean and service assigned areas and equipment to include tables, shelves, countertops, refrigerators, stoves and patient care equipment; maintain sufficient stock and supplies in storage areas for proper performance of these duties; report needed items for reorder.
Clean and sterilize bedpans, urinals, emesis basins, instruments, glassware and other items; restock patient rooms with clean supplies and equipment; sweep and spot mop floors in emergency situations.
Pick up, fold and store linen.
Pick up and deliver specimens, charts, clinical records, requisitions and supplies as directed; move furniture on wards as required.
Escort or transport patients to and from hospital wards, laboratories, clinics and other areas.
Answer phone and record and relay requests for unit services.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
